Angelina Jolie arrives in  Pakistan, visits flood-hit areas of Sindh

Famous Hollywood actress and UN humanitarian Angelina Jolie arrived in Karachi on September 20 and visited the areas of interior Sindh, devastated by worst flooding in Pakistan’s recent history.

Angelina, who is the UN’s  special envoy for refugees, has come to support communities affected by devastating floods and to boost understanding of the situation in the flood-hit areas, according to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), a global humanitarian group.

She initially visited the Dadu district where she met with the affected women and children and asked about their problems and needs.

Jolie, who previously visited victims of 2010 floods in Pakistan, and the 2005  earthquake in northern areas of the country, will visit the IRC’s emergency response operations and local organisations assisting  displaced people, including Afghan refugees.
