Flood-relief goods exempted from duty, taxes

The government has exempted duty and taxes on local and international supply of goods for flood-relief operations.

The Federal Board of Revenue has clarified in a notification on Tuesday, September 6 that the total supply of flood-related goods, both imported and locally supplied/sold will only be exempt from all sales tax if it is certified by the National Disaster Management Authority/Provincial Disaster Management Authority.

This exemption is available for a period of 90 days, effective from August 30, 2022.
