Fort Munro receives first snowfall of season

The hill station of Fort Munro in Dera Ghazi Khan district has received the first snowfall of the season on Friday.

A large number of people from Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Multan, Bahawalpur and adjacent areas thronged the hill resort to enjoy the snowfall.

The resort was built at an altitude of 6,470 feet during British rule and was named after an English civil servant, Munro. This is located on the peaks of the Sulaiman Range, some 850km from Dera Ghazi Khan.

The administration of the DG Khan district has invited tourists through social media to visit the place and enjoy the snowfall. It also issued directives to the concerned authorities to take appropriate measures for providing necessary facilities to the tourists.

All private hotels, restaurants and government-owned rest houses have also been directed to make arrangements to handle the expected rush of visitors to the hill station.
