Defending champions France defeated World Cup wild cards Morocco 2-0 to reach the final for the second time in a row. They will now meet Argentina in the final to be played on Sunday, December 18.

Morocco, the first African side to reach a World Cup semi-finals, came close to drawing level but France kept their composure in the heated atmosphere of Al Bayt Stadium where large number of spectators were supporting the Muslim country.

If France win the final, they will become the first country to retain the World Cup trophy for 60 years following Brazil’s victories in 1958 and 1962.
