ICC announces T20 World 2024 Allocation Procedure

Dubai: The International Cricket Council has announced the qualifying procedures for the T20 World Cup 2024. According to the ICC, 20 teams will participate in the 2024 World Cup. The qualifying of the ten teams in the event will be decided on the basis of ranking.

The ICC says that the remaining eight teams in the mega event will be decided after the qualifier matches. Qualifier matches will be played to make room. It may be recalled that the 2024 T20 World Cup will be held in USA and West Indies while the 2026 T20 World Cup will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

According to the ICC, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia will host the ODI World Cup in 2027, the 2028 T20 World Cup will be in Australia and New Zealand. India will also host the 2029 Champions Trophy, England, Ireland and Scotland will co-host the 2030 T20 World Cup, while India and Bangladesh will co-host the 2031 ODI World Cup.
