Inam, Bismah lead Pakistan at Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in UK

The Pakistan contingent led by top wrestler Mohammad Inam and national women cricket team captain Bismah Maroof participated in the march-past at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on July 29.

Prince Charles, accompanied by his wifeط and Duchess of Cornwall, formally declared the  Games opened.

Pakistan’s activist Malala Yousufzai also received a warm welcome from a huge crowd and she shared with them her experiences in Birmingham.

The presentation of superb segments during the gripping ceremony kept the crowd heavily absorbed.

Some 500 atheletes from 72 countries are contesting in 19 sports disciplines of the Games, which will continue until August 8.
