Pakistan’s swimmers Jahanara Nabi and Bismah Khan failed to reach the semi-finals of the women’s 100m freestyle in the Commonwealth Games at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, Birmingham.
However, Jahanara broke her national record by 0.16 seconds after clocking a minute 1:01.51 to finish 40th among 55 competitors who started.
Olympian Bismah finished 47th overall after a time of 1:02.59.
Another swimmer from Pakistan Mishael Ayub clocked 1:22.12 and finished 26th out of 28 contestants in the women’s 100m backstroke heats.
