Pakistan secure bronze in Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup

Pakistan finished third to secure bronze medal in the 29th edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup tournament, being held in Ipoh, Malaysia on Wednesday, November 9.

They defeated Japan 5-3 in the match to reach the victory stand after 11 years in the event. The last time was 2011 when Pakistan played the final of the Cup against Australia.

Hosts Malaysia became the champions while South Korea were the runners-up in the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup -2022.

Six teams participated in the 29th edition — hosts Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, Egypt, South Korea and South Africa.

It is important to note that eight players of Pakistan made their international debut in this event.
