Like the previous tournaments of the FIFA World Cup, this time also Pakistan-made footballs are being used in the 22nd edition, which opened in Qatar on Sunday, November 20.

This time, the football has been named ‘Al Rihla’, an Arabic word meaning ‘the journey’. This football is inspired by the culture, architecture, iconic boats and flags of Qatar.

These footballs have been manufactured in Sialkot, Pakistan’s city known worldwide for making high-quality sports equipment.

Reportedly, some 3,000 footballs will be used in the World Cup tournament, being played at eight stadiums of four cities in Qatar.

Though, Pakistan is not playing the World Cup but it is participating in the prestigious event by producing footballs for it. This is indeed a proud moment for the country.
