Rains, floods inflict $10 billion losses: Miftah

The economic impact of torrential rains and subsequent floods has been estimated at $10 billion, which is roughly translated to three per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.

This was stated by Finance Minister Miftah Ismail while speaking to media on August 29.

The province of Sindh alone is suffering damages of over $1.6 billion (Rs355bn) as all major crops have been destroyed.
