Pakistani popular actress Saba Qamar has recently won the ‘Best Actress’ award for her superb performance in Sarmad Khoosat’s movie ‘Kamli’ at the Indus Valley International Film Festival held in Indian capital New Delhi.
The star-studded event was organised by the South Asia Forum for Creative Arts and Heritage. Among a number of movies shown at the festival, 21 films were from South Asian countries, including Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Pakistani movies grabbed four awards in the tough competition at the festival.
Besides Saba Qamar, super star Mahira Khan received the ‘Best Actress’ award for a short movie ‘Prince Charming’, Arif Hassan won the ‘Best Actor’ award for feature film ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ for which Sarmad Khoosat was also named for the ‘Best Director’ award.
‘Zindagi Tamasha’ is a bilingual movie, shot in Lahore, was directed by Sarmad Khoosat. He was also its co-producer along with his sister Kanwal Khoosat.
‘Kamli’ has also been directed and produced by Sarmad Khoosat and both movies have been critically acclaimed at home and abroad.
