The annual ceremony of the Pakistan Banking Awards (PBA) – 2022 was held on December 9 in Karachi where Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) gave away awards to deserving banks and financial institutions for their outstanding performances in various departments of banking in the country during the year.
The Habib Bank Limited (HBL) was declared the best bank of the year and its president Muhammad Aurangzeb received the award from the Governor SBP.
The HBL also got the award for the best bank for agriculture while its subsidiary HBL Microfinance Bank Limited won the award for the best microfinance bank.
The Bank Alfalah Limited also got two awards — one for the best digital banking, and other for housing finance while the award for the best consumer bank went to Meezan Bank Limited.
The Bank of Punjab won the award in the category of small and medium enterprises and the Kashf Foundation received the award for the best innovative business.
The Institute of Bankers in Pakistan holds the annual award ceremony in partnership with the Dawn Media Group and in collaboration with the A. F. Ferguson and Company.
